| Challenging the meaning of the ninpo | by sok'e nejunsu for everyone |
Ninjutsu is best described as the collection of skills utilized by the Ninja while Ninpo, often
referred to as "the higher order of Ninjutsu, " implies a philosophy for living based on the
principles of Nin
Nin translates into patience, but can also imply perseverance, or stealth. The Japanese character
for Nin consists of two parts or radicals. The upper radical is called yaiba which refers to the
cutting edge of a blade. The lower radical can be read either as kokoro or shin, both of which
mean heart.
The character po, which implies natural law, is used rather than do (i.e.. judo, kendo, aikido, etc).
Referring to our art as Ninpo rather than Ninjutsu stresses training which is concerned with the
internal development of the individual's character along with the technical skills of martial training. It
isn't enough just to know techniques, it is where your heart and spirit are as a person that is
important. For this reason, Ninpo stresses philosophic and spiritual training in conjunction with the
physical training. This refinement of one's spirit is known in Japanese as seishinteki kyoyo.
Ninpo is concerned with the defense of the whole self, and recognizes that defense against a
life-threat is dealt with by the spirit as much as with physical technique.
------------------------------------------------
Ninpo, though an excellent understanding of the meditational natures of the ninjutsu mind..wasn't ancient...
and the meaning behind its real nature was quite a mystery until as a student of the "shadow" the answer revealed itself..
Nin: is the absence of the self ad the teachings of the ideal mind..the "programed" self...
(like a blade that cuts to reveal its true nature otherwise it remains un-used or rusted...it is the nin..that develop or inspire the practicing mind to learn not from the body we see but the body we don't...(sorry as of my study i can't reveal any more yet..)
Ja: heart as it is placed in character...known to us as just the name: man....(it is the manual actions of the heart that forfill the experiences of the actions yet to come...)
ninja in symbolism... is the blood of the person an oath to the self to give everything and more..howver its not a slave to the desire to have but more the presece to want to be..as in share and eventually the blood will run ad the bloods that run mix and you get more with the hearts that press these skills and sights..then the new art is born...
(thats what i know as the secrets of the nin.....ja)
or so i am allowed to state only so far...
so the philosophy of ninpo a great growing philosophy isn't as complete as it may find it was born to be way back "when"....

| The Secrets of the Elemental System | by sok'e nejunsu for everyone |
listed
below is the tai-jutsu method.... now learn the ninja's...though i
reveal this..secret... it will not give away the full experiences of us
as in the art of the shadow...
-----------------------------------------
The Elemental Approach
Taijutsu, the ninja self-protection method, takes an elemental approach based on the Go-dai "five-elements".
Chi Earth stability, the attitude of confidence and strength.
The confrontation is won before it has started. You stop
them in their tracks. You are immovable as a majestic
mountain or a mighty oak tree.
Sui Water responsiveness, the attitude of fade and strike.
You withdraw from your aggressor's attack, and respond
with a blast of power. You are as a wave in the surf
rising back and then crashing on the shore.
Ka Fire expansiveness, the attitude of foresight. You
perceive the potential for attack and are committed to
stopping the aggression the moment you perceive it. You
are as a fireball hurling forward.
Fu The attitude of intellect. You are free moving and
skillful enough to know exactly where you need to be
in order to take control of the aggression, positioning
yourself to take advantage of your momentum. You are like
a cloud of smoke that one tries to grasp as you slip and
curl from between his fingers and out of his grip.
Ku The void, the source of all elements. You use your
skill to face unknown attacks and acquire the appropriate
attitude in response.
------------------------------------------------------
now the shadows answer to these above...
The Elemental Approach
Taijutsu, the ninja self-protection method, takes an elemental approach based on the Go-dai "five-elements".
Chi (Shih) Earth is the place the ninja test their true self, though this is both mental as well as physical this is where the next master will be made... it is 4th in the line
"as one touches on the mountain they learn of not only their destiny but the fires of the future"
Sui (wu-zi) Water is the place the ninja learn movement and stealth and in this become like a dream only to be touched at will and then becomes like a wall that will make any limits of an art seem without.. it is the ninja's mind and soul
Ka (kagi) Fire is the secret weapon of the ninja mindset as it can create as well as destroy, and though these things make the ninja learn the disiplines of the land they work in, this is ever growing and can overwelm any whom stand in its way..Fire is the future...and if you study the mystical ways it will be yours as well...
Fu (indo-fudo) Metal (though it can be more) is the secret of the shadows weaponing "don't know what weaponing is?" learn...without this skill a ninja is nothing more then a very advanced martial artist in a costume.. (though the secret lies somewhere in history the tools will not and this is the invisible door to the ninja to be...as a skill.
Ku (kogi-(don't get this confused with the koga) "ko-ji" is more then the word the japanese mind created but more a underlined secret that the ninja...) used as a map to the infinite...forming ( void ) gets you to be something that even your own shadow will fear but 'fear not" the nin-ja heart will not leave you as a target for the skill that in the wrong hands becomes a unlimited self forfilling dream...but in the right will not only bring justice but peace....(magic_K_) you say...
perhaps...(but its here and it is in use...)
Now you see the doors do you walk in them....?

Your Weekly Martial Arts Lesson
Respect- You Must Give In Order To Get
I am currently at a Dan Kennedy marketing seminar in Atlanta and there are some great martial artists and business owners here. As I sat around and watched some of them in action this evening, I was reminded of the deep respect that serious martial artists have for one another no matter what style they practice.
There is an old Chinese saying, “The stalk that carries the most grain, bows the lowest.” I think this carries into the martial arts philosophy in that most of the time, the best warriors of all, are usually the most humble. This follows a natural principle called “The Law of The Farm”. Everyone knows that a farmer plants his crop in the spring, works it all year and gets to harvest in the fall. This natural law is true in business, personal relationships and basically anything you want to achieve in life.
The truth is that you need to pay in advance, full price for anything you get. Many people are raised today thinking they can get things now and pay for them later based on the way our society has become, but in all important things, you must give first and then you get.
This is especially true with respect. Respect is something you must earn, not demand from others. Once you start showing respect to others, then respect will start coming back to you. In traditional martial arts, the senior students respect and take care of the beginning students as well as the senior students because they know that each position is very important in the overall scheme of things. The teacher respects the students, because without them, he would not have any position to teach and the students respect their teacher because they know what he is teaching is priceless and will change their lives forever. This mutual respect is the foundation of black belt excellence and what each martial artists should strive for.
Respectfully,
Terry Bryan

Thank you for your reply
yes we offer classes for adults, fee is set by the art you wish to learn, and its not a monthly fee...it is flat rate, as teaching here is for serious and personal efforts not fully about the money..
classes are one on one or group, as requested for the art or skill your progressing to...
sorry we don't offer normally training to youth under the age of 16, because...this isn't just a classic martial arts school and babysitting service.... (not that your young one isn't or doesn't have the skills to advance) its just our standings as of now...)
If certain children offer more spiritual self for their age,and dedication then they might be offered exceptions....however this is rare....
"first off" This is a private school, so my students are picked from the image they are as our arts request them to be and have been seeking this message in their soul for awhile even before they meet me..., "second" as such a school it is our right to be (not select, but more passionate as to the image of the ones who are really dedicated and not just be selling our arts and spiritual messages .."like most".... don't get me wrong each school has its own desires and profits as well as their spiritual hopes and they can be as they may... but when you train here.... expect the art, the message, and the secrets that the other schools may make you await until your a blackbelt in their standings to hold...
"third" Private means the right to have and not be exploited to serve a marketing image, unless such image serves to get one as worthy as the one whom is showing such art....or dedication...(so no big dislays are offered unless they are needed to show the student the desired method of action, and when i mean action i mean.. "self defensive nature"
(if you can meet this then we are the school for you)

| The Word of the Day | by sok'e nejunsu for everyone |
Are
we fighters, teachers of an enlightened mind or just merely just
survivng day to day....(I offer ask why would we even care...because to
be in the arts as i was taught was to know it protects you as much as
you protect it....and respect how you achieved it....)
As
a Master i think, If we was at war would i hold back to save my life
or anothers even if i was in the wrong.....(the answer id you don't know
until your faced with that, many beginner and advanced students want to
know where their lives will be after they are as i am.....(again, i can
only hope they use and respect what they have made apart of themselves
through me....)
We live in times that make
everything Life or death, but a martial artist should be and has been
above the issueof politics.... (as long as it had to do with personal
teaching) if it had to do with the chores of fitting into the grand
design of the all mighty dollar.., yen or curency.....rules and methods
may change...and not always for the better, but...again we live in a
world where these are more valuable then lives who make them.....
So whats a dedicated martial artist to do......
Follow
the lessons and become their growth, advance them once they call for
you to do this...(not makeup your own freestyle or mixed martial
accent....) but merely adapt them to the world you serve....and if you
think you don't then you need to rethink why you came to study the
arts....)
to kick but and not be picked on no
more, well then with that out of the way are you now the bully, you
wanted not to harm or attack you....
Any Martial art has the accent on Harm or disable.....we don't want to but its what we was trained to do....
However
i put it on high, as in your spirit will be your judge when you reach
with your educated body and mind to find out when and where to defend
and to attack...
I find the display of martial
arts makes one more apt to want in, then to practice it as a life
style....(because thats what your looking at when you openly study, not
just add a class.....from 2-4 to get healthy like a gym, you can use it
like this but then its all recreational..isn't it....)
Well
I would like to think the graduating students of any School or Dojo,
Dojang, or other label to martial training.....is above the petty
things....
At my School we try to be.....
| The Factory of the Arts | by sok'e nejunsu for everyone |
Today
we have organizations devoted to exploiting the nature and works of the
arts, to teach is fine but to sell out our art for public fame...that
should be the reasoning of why the (Private Instructor or Instruction
happens.)
I have always thought that the art was
to teach us what it means to find ourselves in the constant flow of
changes and challenges of life....
The styles
and skills aren't meant to giude you to combat but to teach you why
combat becomes a form of transition in the soul of the being...
(thats how i teach and thats how i learned)
The
Fine Arts of the Martials aren't for display at your simple shops and
stores, they are to be displayed in the mind and soul of the user...
Displaying anything brings to light its very essense when it is held more then just a stunt or complex play.......
So
just know you can get all the federations of arts together but you will
never house the true nature of the mystery that is the art (it will be
however waiting for you when you grow past these simple auctions of your
skill)

| Modern Limitations and Training only so far.. | by sok'e nejunsu for everyone |
When i was training my students the other day in class a though occured from them asking about real weapons training.....
We here at this school train so it can be used and train with the real weapons (after the practicing ones)
but one of my students said...... i don't wish to be cut or hurt in my training......
(i
then said don't train because if you do training you will be taught to
avoid it however this is no game and you must be ready....(i then asked
did you come to only see the art from your own hands or use it to save
yourself if needed and perhaps others.... the student then replied "but i
don't want scars or or cuts"
(i then said then take it as recreation and then when we get to the full real combat part....(just not be in it) WATCH
but
don't come here and say to me that you used what i taught you and it
didn't work and you got hurt.....(because you know that to face fear you
must be willing to face action, and if you train with limits imposed by
yourself and not the art....then you already lost....in a real attack)
Yes
if it comes to hand to hand you will have the skill to survive and
perhaps win, but if it comes to the weapons that are more then just your
movement..... you already told me (and them) your not ready....
When
you enter a martial arts form......expect that your going to use it,
you just train so your body will and your mind is free to escape... But
we don't seek to fight but only to stop the fight......
(YOU KNOW THIS)
a
few of my other students said and i quote "I know i come to defend my
life and to learn an art that will take me to the next level of myself
and awaken my limitations so i can grow beyond them.....and i will do
what i need to to get there..."
(I wanted to bow
and then sidekick puch and graple them all so i can see if it was more
then words, but i....know they meant it...) practice......
I
wish i could have said to my teachers take it easy or i don't want to
be cut or kicked or hurt.....(they would have said) "Bye"
(not
really would i have said that, because i come to respect that they
saught only to give me what i needed to protect myself and abit
more.....)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
My
point is: Modern students aren't exactly as the ones (i was apart of
training and teaching like 5-7 years ago) The fire of the warriors
spirit and the respect have become just to limiting......(perhaps they
just need abit more fuel in their soul)
Thats my
job and desire.... but......We can't teach if the student doesn't
repect the strenght of the lesson....and why would we want to......do it
only half way?
----------------------------------------------------------------
My
students have in both shown the respect and nature that got them in the
door, its now in my option to offer them the fire......from then on....

Master wisdom:
limitations
are on everything but in the spirit its the fires we face that make us
grow and not let the task we must endure to get there be the limits we
hide behind...
(safety is the issue, but when your in the art..the saftey you have comes from the practice and willingness to endure...)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sho-Lung-Dojo isn't your adverage studying Martial Arts School.
We
here at this school are about the lessons that teach the student, not
the master that teaches the student lessons...(let me explain)
Though many a teacher is a worthy friend and guide to a student..
There
is also a luxury that only some of your advancing students get to
understand..that is History, Honor, and the Design becoming you... Many a
master
might tell you...Some are more gifted then
others...this is true in the idea that some want it (THE ARTS) more then
another..thats why some progress and others move out of it.....(sad but
thats the process)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well with the Arts now visible our school walks into the light just for another summer...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adverage Sashing Kung-Fu (shaolin) as well as (free-style) : are 300.00
Aikijutsu/Samurai (Yoshin-Kagi) runs : 500-800.00 (unless systems)
Ninjutsu: (advanced to the (systems) runs: (if accepted)
(300-500.00)
(Basic defensive and conveying styles (wing-jeet-choy) are about 250.00 to 500.00
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
(weapons , equipment and other are the duty of every student)
At
our school, once you pay your lesson amount, you never pay again,
unless you want more and advancing arts... (from then on its test fee,
and materials)
We aren't one of those 50.00 a month schools that others can take or leave... as they want..
Training
and anything else depends on your being in Class , we have only one
rules, no show and we have to let you go... (more on that if your a
student)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If
you leave our school, as i am thankful to say few ever do, ( i see
students from way back and we welcome them as if they was on
vacation...Due to rules: the payment you made will not be refunded,
sorry....) unless we feel you haven't gotten the best of your time
here....then we might...(because its shouldn't be about the money)
IT SHOULD BE ABOUT THE PRACTICE...............& Growth in the Arts..
(respectfully)

| Translations and conduct of wisdom | by sok'e nejunsu for everyone |
Truthfully
no language ever spoken has been in its true tongue or method and
anything said in honor should be taken as so...educational standards or
not.....
Only those more interested in pleasing another with
words rather then actions...take this action as wrong or
incorrect.....see it as so
When one is
respected it is shown in actions not...."mere words" This standard isn't
a Lazy Western thing (its a non Importance thing) like: going to the
resterant and get only half your meal, you should care you didn't get it
all...but its still only a meal......and if you don't ask about it
chances are they aren't going to either...(you wasn't cheated, they just
may have mixed up your order, if it openly offends you then by all
means get a outcome.... but what if you could only at that time eat that
much...was they thinking ahead to save you the trouble......or are you
rude enough to want more then you could eat at that time to prove you
have no reserved honor in just asking why your meal is shortened?
Seems to me you get the food your going to use anyway.....and you can always chat about it later....
The Conduct of Wisdom is to see the full picture.................before you act or speak
and
to do this you must not be petty, to be petty you only invite the image
of your personality to come to view....before you will...........
The reason i am saying this message is over the image of San verses Sensei.....
san
as i look at it is just respect after the name, in my view san at the
end is a bad way of expressing a thankyou or honored one.....
(machima-san) sounds good but in our american tongue its: The honor was
mine Mr Machima, and in their the japanese saying (which by the way was
taken from chinese languages a few centuries earlier) then is
....Machima-san) which in our way of thinking is (Mr Machima that we
honor).........seems very petty to me......
Not
that we can't respect the wording of a form of greeting and or respect
that person or persons for helping in our development....
But and this is my own personal thought.....
Sensei Mr..............blank
sounds and looks better then: Mr Blank Sensei
If we was as in these the Usa was born in the other areas like japan or Au (we might write backwords as forwards.....
But
I am neither for or against the saying of a title before or after, i
just perfer (if you can call it that: the westerner mistake...........to
the non respectable..........
after message of the Eastern theology....
Whatever
you do the words are never going to match the emotion, so the more you
try the more the words won't flow from your lips in easy drops but more
like signs that defy reasoning.........
As of a
note: If western learning was and is so bad, then why isn't this the
Land of the rising sun part 2......(i mean this with my most humble
respect and honor to learn the arts of the World)
But
say anything one way and sooner or later it will be
changed.........time has that effect on all things even our
bodies...........
So (I bow to the wise, i sit
beneath the tree of refection and look at the lake of many faces and i
practice the art that makes me see the future) then i smile.....
| The Last Ninja Legacy | by sok'e nejunsu for everyone |
True the Ninja of the Past aren't (ssshhhhhhh) around any more....right....
When
the ninja legacy was passed to master hatsumi-san, it was the only
visible ninjutsu of the day......However they the other Ninja Systems
may not have shown their Faces (but that doesn't mean they aren't
about.....)
Much like a private school they may
chosen to be secret and select and stay far away from the lights that
make them seem like just another kungfu-karate school...
With the rise of the movie makers the interest in the art of the shadow are now saught out more then ever...(just a note)
As a Master of my local school, you will find its when the messages aren't sent anymore that the real guest showup.....
Be skillful, Be safe, and Be ready
Because the shadows hide more then ninjutsu....
Sok'e R.L
| About what it means for "Private Instruction" | by sok'e nejunsu for everyone |
I never rant, but it is an issue i am beginning to feel strongly about.....
Its the Fly by night (kungfu-katate schools)
Due
to their influences the idea of one learning the arts of the masters
and the ancient methods of being seem as simple to get and give away at
29.99 for a few lessons.
I find that me and my
School and hopefully the ones of Old Mastery still want to live in the
time that the training is given not to the one who will pay and go but
to the one who lives the heart of martial arts inside....
I
don't know about others but i feel i live in the days when the art is
worth more then a contract or a monthly payment of 50.00 a month.....
Ancient History Lesson:
In
the old days you was to be invited to a meeting with a master and you
brought a gift or a item to show your interest in being there, and if
you was poor you could be after a test taken in and your cleaning and
maintaining a dojo or rooms was your daily payment to the wishing to
learn, or if you was wealthy you would offer money to keep the school
runing and to meet its needs....(whether they needed it or not) or if
you was well in the middle class it was up to the master of the school
to determine your worthy in action or in payment.....
Today
with the unlimited Foundations being about...they the public wish us to
be like the Modern schools of the limiting contracts.....and to value
our art the same....
(Should we?) I have 10 years plus under my belt to say no.....
If
you have a large school and lots of funds (you can offer as you want)
but what if you came from a semi large schooling and they agree that its
become just a place to train and not a place to learn....
My School is open to teaching the arts of the martial free, but that is our general art as you read here before.
But
when it comes to the arts that require more then just time and effort,
they can get abit pricy.....(and i tell them (the public) this
beforehand...
In conclusion:
Why should a private school of the martial instruction be treated like a public school of a fly by night (katate or kungfu)?
As
a Master or Head of your school should you allow others to dictate how
they wish to enter, to me that isn't a student thats a
(teacher)......and my answer is No.
When someone
wishes to train in any art i offer or my school has as general, then
they must meet my requirements, (i don't have to meet theirs)
not that i won't try and make some arrangements.....
BECAUSE IT SHOULD BE ABOUT THE ART AND NOT THE MEANS
